Acura MDX Lease Programs

Following is some useful information about Acura’s heritage in America, their dedication to each of their customers, their dedication to increased driver safety, and some basic warranty information.  When considering your next Acura Lease, this may prove to be some useful information on which to base your buying/leasing decision.

ABOUT ACURA

Acura's penchant for building high performance, innovative and meticulously crafted vehicles began just under 20 years ago, in 1986. With nearly a decade of research and development to pull from, Acura introduced the Legend to the US. It was the first Japanese luxury car on the market, and it combined the best of the best-the handling virtues, performance and comfort features that grace upscale European and America luxury marques, and the reliability, quality and user-friendly design drivers expect from Japanese automobiles.

Innovation reached exhilarating heights with the NSX, bringing with it Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control (VTEC™), the use of a hand-assembled all-aluminum body, a drive-by-wire throttle, and a 4-channel Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS).

The Acura Integra was modestly priced, yet filled with technological innovations that would come to distinguish the Acura brand as an innovator. Its racecar style performance would also set the pace among enthusiasts, with its good-looks, crisp-handling yet reliable sports performance.

Excellence has enjoyed several incarnations since then. The RL was introduced in 1996 in honor of Acura's 10th anniversary. Hailed as their flagship, the RL was well received as a technologically advanced touring sedan.

From its debut in 2001, the Acura MDX introduced the notion an SUV could have the road feel of a performance luxury car. And it worked. A couple years later, the TSX was born, and it immediately caught the eye of those wanting the space and safety of a sedan, but the power and performance of a sports car. The TSX gave them both.

2003 brought the redesign of the popular TL. Its new incarnation struck a chord with the tech-savvy consumer, featuring innovations like Bluetooth and DVD-Audio. And in 2004, the all-new 2005 RL made its much-anticipated arrival with the most powerful Acura engine to date, the revolutionary Super Handling All-Wheel Drive™ (SH-AWD™)-the world's most advanced all-wheel-drive system, and North America's first real-time traffic feature. The RL's myriad of technological innovations are, indeed, proof that the luxury performance sedan was truly reinvented.

SAFETY COMMITTMENT

The evolution of safety technology is constantly in motion. So we built two facilities designed to keep up with the industry's latest developments.

Our omni-directional vehicle-to-vehicle crash test facility at the Tochigi R&D center in Japan opened in 2001 and is home to the first indoor all-weather facility of its type. In addition to standard crash barrier tests, the facility is designed to simulate actual traffic accidents between vehicles. The Tochigi R&D center is also capable of simulating an accident between two cars at different speeds, as well as tests involving different sizes of vehicles such as passenger car and a truck.

And in 2003, we opened our newest 78,000 square-foot Automotive Safety Research Facility in Ohio. Its testing features include seven advanced safety-testing laboratories, including a sophisticated crash barrier block and the first crash test simulator with pitching capabilities for more accurate simulation of real world crash dynamics.

At this dedicated crash facility, engineers can test safety technology from all angles - full frontal, angled barrier, side impact. And because we use both real world and simulated crash tests, we are able to evaluate the effectiveness of safety systems such as air bags and seatbelts in situations that more closely reflect real world performance. In turn, engineers are able to develop and evolve safety features that can adapt to almost any kind of impact. And help protect passengers.

ACTIVE AND PASSIVE SAFETY FEATURES

To be effective, safety technology should help prevent accidents before they happen. It has to monitor the turn of the wheel, take note of changes in terrain and weather conditions, and anticipate the driver's next move. And when necessary, it must be agile enough to respond if something unexpected happens.

This level of anticipation can mean the difference between a safe drive home and an accident. Which is why safety technology includes features that are designed to sense trouble before you do. Like Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA®), which adds side-slip control to the Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) and Traction Control function for a solid, controlled ride. TPMS monitors tire air pressure and can let you know when low pressure is detected, and Bi-Xenon High-Intensity Discharge (HID) headlights, whose design provides twice the nighttime illumination of conventional halogen headlights and throws a powerful, controlled beam far ahead of you.

When an accident is unavoidable, safety technology should go above and beyond to help keep you and your passengers from injury. For seamless protection, we integrate Acura safety features in the first stages of design. As a result, these technologies are agile enough to communicate quickly and respond with an appropriate level of protection.

To help keep impact energy at a minimum, front and rear crumple zones deform in a controlled manner, which additionally allows the passenger compartment to retain much of its structural integrity.

Air bag protection is one of the most advanced technologies of an Acura vehicle. Our newest safety feature is Side Curtain Air Bags, which is designed to help protect you and your passenger's head in the case of a side impact. Dual-stage, dual-threshold air bags reduce front air bag inflation speed and force by triggering the inflators in sequence during a moderate frontal collision. Occupant Position Detection System (OPDS) uses sensors to calculate passenger height and position to determine whether to deploy the side air bag.
